59' Tyran Wishart on report

By Simon Smale

Tyran Wishart laid a shot on without wrapping the attacker, or even attempting to.

The Raiders get a penalty and good field position.

58' aaaaand Jordan Martin goes off again

By Simon Smale

Shame for the youngster.

He's been ordered off by the independent doctor after getting caught by the hip of Christian Welch.

he did not look good so that's a good decision I think.

Key Event

52' Jack Howarth scores his first career try!

By Simon Smale

It's simple for the Storm now.

A short ball from Hughes, sending Howarth crashing into the Raiders line and then the youngster uses his strength to twist over the line.

He's getting a bit of a hamstring workout on the sidelines now as the kick is being lined up by Wishart, who misses.

It's 16-6.

50' Jordan Martin comes on to make his Raiders debut

By Simon Smale

The 24-year-old has come through the Raiders development system.

The Casino-born forward was in the NSW Cup team last year before doing his ACL which ended his year prematurely.

47' Shawn Blore scores!

Bronson Garlick dummies right, steps left and then plays Blore in to crash over and score from close range.

Craig Bellamy has the finger out in the coaches box, pointing and gesturing angrily at something.

But he will be pleased to have seen his team respond to conceding that early try in this second period.

The kick is great from Tyran Wishart, making the score 12-6.

45' Albert Hopoate on report

By Simon Smale

JackHowarthfumbled the ball - but got slammed in the head by the shoulder of Hopoate so it goes from the knock on Melbourne to a Melbourne penalty.

Key Event

42' Kaeo Weekes scores a length of the field try!

By Simon Smale

He's not been great at fullback so far today, but he does brilliantly here.

The ball was chipped to him by Tryan Wishart on his own 10, accelerated through two would-be tacklers before burning past Sualauvi Fa'alogo.

You've got that right, Lucille

A dour struggle so far

- Lucille

But you know what, the darkness offers contrast to the light, the dull to the brilliant.

Live: Storm takes narrow lead over Raiders in Melbourne after Newcastle wins thriller (1)

It's not been a great half of football to be honest.

Errors are mounting from both teams - seven from the Storm, nine from the Raiders - in admittedly challenging conditions.

The Storm just haven't been able to capitalise on their 60 per cent possession, only scoring one try in the entire half.

39' Kaeo Weekes drops another high ball

By Simon Smale

Tough conditions, but Kaeo Weekesdrops a sitter and Melbourne has good field position.

But hang on, there's a knock on in the first play of the set from Grant Anderson!

That wasn't great.

38' Shawn Blore in a spot of bother

By Simon Smale

That's not great forShawnBlore.

He got folded over in the tackle and appears to have done something to his right leg.

He gets some treatment and is going to try and continue, with half time 60 seconds or so away.

Key Event

37' Josh King scores the opener!

By Simon Smale

Well it took long enough.

The Raiders simply lost a bit of focus.

Elliot Whitehead flew out of the line, completely misread the play and allowedBronsonGarlickto find King, who fell over the line untouched.

The kick is good from Tyran Wishart - his first kick for goal in the NRL - and we have the first points of this game, 6-0.

26' Will Warbrick drops the ball on the sideline

By Simon Smale

Albert Hopoate does brilliantly to deny Warbrick a try.

Warbrick got the ball in the corner, leaped into the air and then had his arms hit by Hopoate to make him drop the ball.

They're going to come back for a high tackle by Jordan Rapana though.

22' Matthew Timoko looks in some discomfort

By Simon Smale

Matthew Timoko tried to tackle Grant Anderson and got swung around and he's reeled up out of the tackle and appears in a fair amount of pain.

He's over on the sideline now and appears to be in a bit of strife.

We'll keep our eyes on that.

19' Bit of a coming together

By Simon Smale

Will Warbrick and Jordan Rapana get into it after Jack Howarth leaves the ball behind after being tackled by Kaeo Weekes in the corner.

The rain is getting heavier, but it has been a game of very few chances so far, which is why the small ones are so important and why the tempers are starting to fray.

17' Tom Starling has been opened up

By Simon Smale

Oh nasty.

Tom Starling is bleeding from his face - a really nasty cut that's opened up above his left eye.

He attempted to make a tackle onJahromeHughes and copped a loose boot.

Looking at the replay, perhaps he should be off getting an HIA...

12' Sualauvi Faalogo is extraordinary

By Simon Smale

Oh that was magic from Sualauvi Faalogo. Absolutely magical.

The Raiders put up a bomb so high the International Space Station got concerned, a spiralling torpedo that was moving and wobbling all over the place.

Sualauvi Faalogo not only gathered the ball, with an extraordinary catch, but then embarked on a mazy, weaving run up over half way from inside his own 10.

As he made a couple of Raiders defenders look silly, he slapped a broad grin across his face and stuck out his tongue.

What a run.

What a talent.

1' We're underway in a wet Melbourne

By Simon Smale

The Raiders will have first use of the ball, but Morgan Smithies loses it so the Storm will have great field position.
