<![CDATA[The Eagle-Tribune: Obituaries]]> (4)

North Andover - Richard S. Walker, of North Andover, MA passed away suddenly May 17, 2024. Rick forged a successful career specializing in Finance and IT and was employed at New Balance for over the past 20 years.Family is the nucleus of Rick's life. He is the devoted husband of Ethel (Campbell) Walker with whom he shared the past 40 years of his life and treasured 37 years of marriage, proud father to Ronald Campbell and his wife Ellen, adored Beepa to his favorite grandchildren Meredith and Logan Campbell, and companion to his co-pilot and best girl Coco. He is predeceased by a son, Richard Walker.Growing up, Rick played on a variety of school sports teams. When he wasn't playing on a team, he was playing in the streets and backyards with his childhood friends Dennis, Charlie, Bobby, Dave, and Pat. He was a loyal New England sports fan and was a regular at The Fireside where he enjoyed many games and meals with his son Ron. He also enjoyed following his favorite bands around New England and beyond. His favorite place to be was with his wife at their summer home on Little Island Pond in Pelham, NH. As soon as the first good stretch of Spring weather moved in, so did Rick and Ethel. They enjoyed the stunning sunset views from their dock in the evenings, and watching the fireworks display put on around Independence Day by their LIP neighbors. Many summer days were spent hosting family and friends on the water. After enjoying the cottage with his wife and sons for many years, he got to do it all over again with his grandchildren. Watching them learn to swim and kayak, catching them as they jumped off the dock over and over (and over) again, an endless supply of hot dogs that HAD to be grilled by Beepa himself, and toasting extra-large marshmallows on sticks he always had ready for them. Creating these memories with their family at the cottage they loved so much inspired them to begin the process of making it their permanent residence so they would be next door to their grandchildren every day.In addition to his immediate family, Rick is survived by a sister-in-law Rose (Rick) Mickunas; cousins Denise Keeley, William (Josephine) Warnock, the late George (Rose) Warnock, and their respective families.Rick valued the company of his closest friends Dennis Young & Susan Reale, Charlie (Anne) Davidson, Bobby (Donna) Barrett, Dave Dortona, Pat (Renee) Mogauro, Bill (Roberta) Hayden, Elie Khoury, Dawn & Dennis Silva, Jack (Lori) Keating, and Michael (Hind) Asmar.Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 11:30 at St. Michael Church in North Andover.
